Project Overview

This project involved redesigning seven websites for a hotel chain in Portugal. The goal was to make the brand feel more modern online, improve the booking experience, and create a cohesive visual identity that reflects the atmosphere and quality of the hotels.

Process

1/ Research & Discovery
The process began with an in-depth research phase to understand both business goals and user needs.
  • Stakeholder Interviews — Gathered insights from the client team about brand positioning, target audience, and key business objectives.

  • Competitor Analysis — Reviewed leading hotel websites to identify industry patterns, strengths, and opportunities for differentiation.

  • Content Audit — Evaluated existing materials to determine gaps and opportunities for improvement.

This phase helped define a clear structure for the website, aligned with both user needs and business objectives.

2/ Wireframing
The next step focused on defining structure and functionality:
  • Low-Fidelity Wireframes — Created initial layouts to map key pages and user flows.

  • Iterative Refinement — Adjusted layouts based on internal reviews and client feedback.

Wireframes ensured alignment on structure before moving into high-fidelity design.

3/ Client Presentation
Design concepts and wireframes were presented to stakeholders in a structured and collaborative format:
  • Walkthrough of design rationale, UX decisions and some ideas

  • Comparison of alternative approaches

  • Interactive discussions to gather feedback

  • Alignment on final direction

This stage ensured transparency and active client involvement in the design process.

4/ UI Design & System
After approval, the final interface design was developed:
  • High-Fidelity Designs — Created visually polished layouts for all key pages

  • Design System — Defined typography, color palette, components, and UI patterns

  • Responsive Design — Ensured consistency across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices

5/ Design Support During Development
Ongoing support was provided throughout the development phase to ensure design quality:
  • Close collaboration with developers

  • UI reviews and design QA

  • Clarifications and design adjustments when needed

  • Ensuring pixel-perfect implementation

This continuous involvement helped maintain design integrity and deliver a high-quality final product.

Outcome

The result was a refined, user-friendly website that enhances brand perception, simplifies the booking experience, and provides a scalable design system for future growth.
